Okay so I just walked out of my philosophy class and I was getting ready to walk down the stairs and then the guy in front of me (he was wearing pointy cowboy boots might I add) stopped, turned and said “ladies first” and let me walk down the stairs before him. WTF! That’s never happened to me before. Really it made my day. Looking back I probably should have stopped to hold the door for him at the bottom of the stairs but I thought that there were more people behind me that would catch it and I’m also an inconsiderate asshole that goes 80 mph through construction zones on the expressway so there’s that too. So really I had intended this post to be a tribute to the urban cowboy who showed me chivalry isn’t dead but rather it’s turned into a reflection on what a shitty person I am. So there.
